Our tennis courts

Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club has 9 outdoor floodlit courts, 2 indoor courts, a clay court and a padel court.

Two of the outdoor courts are housed under a bubble in winter. Padel, hard courts (10, 11, 12) and indoor courts can be booked by non-members.

Floodlight tokens can be purchased from the bar for £3 per half hour.


Indoor tennis court
Courts 1 & 2

Indoor surface - Proflex Impermeable Acrylic. It has excellent durability; and a consistent and true ball bounce. ITF Classified. Located at the club entrance along the side of court 4.

Outdoor tennis court
Courts 4, 5, 6 & 7

DOE Olympus. This surface is recognised as the best synthetic carpet court available. Playing speed is medium to fast with a medium to low bounce; and playable all year round. Floodlit.

Bubble tennis court
Courts 8a & 8b

Poraflex all weather cushioned surface. A high performance acrylic surface. It has a medium to slow pace producing a medium to high ball bounce. Floodlit and are under a 'bubble' in the winter.

Clat tennis court
Court 9 (clay)

RED PLUS is a red earth field patented and certified ITF1 SLOW court. This is an all-weather court but after periods of heavy rain you may need to wait 20 minutes or so to allow the surface to drain. The court must be swept after use.

Hard tennis court
Courts 10, 11 & 12

Tarmacadam surface. This surface is a hard medium to high bouncing court with a medium to slow speed. One of the main advantages of this surface is that it does not hold water like carpet courts do, therefore the balls don't become as heavy in wet conditions. One of the down sides of this surface is that it can be slippery when wet. Floodlit.

Not forgetting our padel court. Padel is the fastest growing racket sport in the world. It's a mix between tennis and squash and is the second most popular game in Spain. Our padel court is bookable by members and non-members. Floodlit.
